From
preschool to graduate school and everywhere in between, schools
in the tri-state area have benefitted from the Grant Award Program
in the form of $5,239,227 awarded since 1996. This means hundreds
of additional kids are using technology as they merge with the
global community onto the information superhighway. But it’s
not all about virtual reality.
Some band members from Anamosa got to travel to Washington, D.C.,
to play in the National Independence Day Parade, thanks to the
Grant Award Program. And the educational landscape in the tri-state
area has brightened considerably with the Grant Award Program helping
to provide tangible resources such as textbooks, musical instruments,
science lab materials, as well as more progressive amenities such
as cultural exchanges, teen-wellness and conflict-resolution programs,
and help for at-risk students, just to name a few.
Being a kid is not all work and no play. You’ll be happy
to hear that there are many new-and-improved playgrounds gracing
the school yards in our communities, also thanks to the Grant Award
Program. As we help raise the grade of our students’ resources,
we’re sure students will be motivated to do some grade-raising
of their own. And we think that’s good news for everyone.
