Big Brown ran away with the Kentucky Derby and will be the favorite in the Preakness. Could this horse be the next Triple Crown Winner?
GUT SHOT ROT WINS $2000 MAIDEN DEBUT
The start of the 2008 Live Greyhound Racing season began Saturday April 26th. After a record snow fall this winter everybody got out of their "Cabin Fever" and came out for our opening day. In the evening performance Gut Shot Rot from the Seastrom Kennel won the 2008 $2000 Maiden Debut. Gut Shot Rot trained by Leon Giguere ran one heck of a race. Gut Shot Rot got out of the 4 box in 4th spt down the front stretch but jumped to the rail and made up a lot of ground in the back stretch to catch the leader MB Live Wire at the top of the home stretch and ran to a 5 length win. MB Live Wire from the Dog patch Kennel took 2nd and Crystal Uhl from the River Bluffs Kennel ran third. RING EMUP AHRENS WINS INAUGURAL
Ring Emup Ahrens wins the 2008 $2000 Dubuque Inaugural Stakes on the opening day of Live Greyhound racing for 2008 Saturday April 26th. Ring Emup Ahrens from the Copperkettle Kennel and trained by Carlton Hanson got out at the break and ran to a two length win in this 5-16th of a mile course event. Pat C Rival from the Pat C Greyhound Kennel took the rail down the backstretch and followed Ahrens to a second place finish.
